Ocean acidification is one of the largest environmental issues of our time. Yet, we have extremely limited information about organisms of the sea and how they will react to ocean acidification over the next decades and centuries. There are special concerns about the arctic and subarctic as where the pH decline is relatively rapid and ecosystems vulnerable.
This website provides information on the ongoing research being conducted on ocean acidification in Iceland and the people behind the work presented. As well as regular reports on interesting additions to our collective knowledge about this issue.
Here you will also find answers to general questions about ocean acidification such as: “Why is the ocean acidifying?”, “why is ocean acidification a problem?” and “How can we stop it?”. Want to know more?
